New Delhi, April 20 (NationPress) In a remarkable outcome from the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, four male students have collectively achieved the prestigious All India Rank 1, while 26 other candidates recorded an impressive 100 percentile. This announcement came from the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday.
The four students—Kabeer Chhillar, Pasala Mohith, Chandra Sekhar, and Aditya Gupta—each attained a flawless score of 300 out of 300, securing their position at the top, according to NTA sources. Notably, Mallavarapu Aasna from Telangana emerged as the highest-performing female candidate. However, it is important to mention that none of the 26 students who achieved a 100 percentile are female.
Overall, 16,04,854 unique candidates registered for the exam across both sessions, with 15,38,474 candidates actually taking the test, as reported by NTA.
The examination was administered in two phases—one in January and another in April. In the first session held in January, there were 13,55,293 registrations with 13,04,653 candidates participating. The second session in April had 11,10,904 registrations and saw 10,34,330 candidates appear.
This year's JEE Main 2026 serves as the qualifying examination for candidates aspiring to take the JEE Advanced, which is the gateway for admission into the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Students placed in the top 2.5 lakh will qualify to sit for the JEE Advanced 2026. For candidates in the General Category, a minimum percentile of 93.41 is required to qualify for the JEE Advanced exam scheduled for May 17, as per NTA sources.
Earlier today, the NTA also published the final answer key for Session 2 of the JEE Main 2026. This final answer key was generated after careful evaluation of challenges raised against the provisional answer key by subject experts. Candidates should be aware that the NTA's decisions regarding any objections are conclusive, and there will be no further re-evaluation of the final answer keys, according to an NDTV report.
