Srinagar, Oct 27 (NationPress) J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated on Monday that there is no valid comparison between the esteemed National Conference (NC) leader and MP Mian Altaf Ahmad and Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, emphasizing that the distinction between both party leaders is akin to that of “earth and sky.”
During a press conference in Srinagar today, Omar remarked that Mian Altaf Ahmad and Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi are incomparable, as their differences in stature are as vast as the earth from the sky.
He expressed his profound respect for Mian Altaf, regarding him as a senior colleague whose counsel he holds in high regard.
“My father always advises me to think before expressing myself, and Mian Altaf echoes the same sentiment. In that regard, there is no disparity between my father and Mian Sahib,” Omar noted.
He encouraged Mian Altaf to reach out to him directly for any discussions that need attention.
“I advised him that if anyone wishes to converse with me, they should bypass the media and approach me directly. We can discuss matters privately; there’s no need for others to be involved,” he stated.
When questioned about Aga Syed Ruhullah, Omar declined to comment, stating, “I will refrain from discussing him. Are you attempting to place him on the same level? There exists a difference as significant as the earth from the sky?”
Aga Ruhullah Mehdi has publicly criticized the elected government’s failure to deliver on the promises outlined in the NC manifesto.
He expressed his inability to campaign for the party in his hometown Budgam constituency, where a by-election is scheduled for November 11.
“I cannot approach the public to seek their votes while reiterating the same promises we made in 2024 that remain unfulfilled,” Ruhullah remarked.
On Sunday, Mian Altaf addressed the Halla Bolle conclave in Srinagar, asserting that since Omar Abdullah serves as the Chief Minister, he must communicate responsibly and with understanding.
The senior NC figure and respected leader within the Gujjar-Bakarwal community also stated that it would be dishonest to tell Omar Abdullah that his administration was on the right path.
