Hyderabad, July 7 (NationPress) Telangana Minister Vakiti Srihari, who joined the state Cabinet last month, voiced his dissatisfaction regarding the portfolios assigned to him on Monday.
Srihari, who took his oath alongside two others on June 8, is responsible for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Sports, and Youth Affairs.
He remarked that he was given departments that have been inactive for a decade.
“The Animal Husbandry sector is chaotic. What can I do with youth affairs? What is my role with sheep?” he questioned during a press interaction.
“I’m uncertain if this is a stroke of good or bad luck,” Srihari commented, referencing the reported scandals in Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development under the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) administration.
Previously, while speaking at a ceremony marking the launch of a sports school in Karimnagar, the minister expressed his discontent regarding his assigned portfolios in the presence of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.
He was sworn in as a minister alongside Vivek Venkataswamy and Adluri Lakshman on June 8, with portfolios assigned on June 11 after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy returned from Delhi.
Srihari, who initiated his political journey as a Youth Congress leader, has been affiliated with Congress for over thirty years. In 2023, he was elected to the Assembly from the Makthal constituency in Narayanpet district.
Meanwhile, Srihari showcased his kabaddi skills alongside his Cabinet counterpart Ponnam Prabhakar at an event in Husnabad, located in Siddipet district.
During their visit to the mini stadium, the ministers surprised attendees by participating in a kabaddi match with Telangana Sports Authority chairman Shiva Sena Reddy and Managing Director A. Sonibala Devi.
They joined the kabaddi players to demonstrate their abilities and enjoyed some light-hearted moments.
Later, while addressing the media, the ministers asserted that the state government is committed to fostering sports talent statewide by enhancing the necessary infrastructure.
