Kolkata, Dec 16 (NationPress) In a heartbreaking incident, four individuals from a family, comprising two children, lost their lives in a road accident that occurred in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal, as reported by officials on Monday.

The tragic event unfolded late on Sunday night, prompting the immediate transfer of the victims to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite the medical staff's best efforts, all four were pronounced dead by Monday morning.

The victims have been identified as Sanjit Roy and his wife Bipasha Sarkar Roy, along with their children, Ivan Roy and Ishita Roy.

According to a police representative from the district, the family was returning home late Sunday after attending a wedding ceremony in the nearby Tufanganj area.

Local residents quickly responded to the scene, attempting to rescue the family. They managed to free them by breaking the car’s windows and rushed them to a local medical facility.

Despite their urgent efforts, witnesses noted that by the time the victims arrived at the hospital, their conditions were already critical and beyond recovery.
