Saha remarked that Police Week is an annual occasion to honor the dedication and sacrifices of police personnel, many of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

“This profession demands great sacrifice. Your unwavering dedication fosters a sense of security among the people. The law and order situation in Tripura has substantially improved thanks to the relentless efforts of the Tripura Police. I commend you all for this accomplishment,” he stated.

Emphasizing the legacy of the police force, the Chief Minister noted that the Tripura Police has served for 150 years and is one of the oldest police forces in India. He also mentioned that the force was awarded the President’s Colour on January 12, 2012.

“Criminals are continuously evolving their techniques by adopting new technologies. We must also adapt and enhance our skills. Initiatives are underway to provide advanced training to address these emerging challenges, with full support from the government,” he added.

Regarding the campaign against drugs, Saha reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance policy. There was an increase in NDPS cases in 2025 due to heightened enforcement, alongside a sharp rise in the seizure and destruction of narcotics.
