Srinagar, Feb 6 (NationPress) A truck driver tragically lost his life during a firing incident in the Baramulla district of J&K, according to officials on Thursday.

An Army report detailed that the truck driver, en route from Srinagar to Baramulla, was instructed to stop near the Jamkash showroom in the Sangrama area of Sopore. The statement elaborated on the events, stating, “On February 5, 2025, a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established in Baramulla due to specific intelligence about potential terrorist movements.”

“While conducting the operation, security personnel noticed a suspicious civilian truck speeding towards the check post. Despite being signaled repeatedly to halt, the vehicle continued to accelerate past the check point.”

“Following the truck for over 23 kilometers, security forces attempted to disable it by firing at its tires, which eventually forced it to stop at Sangrama Chowk. Upon inspection, the injured driver was transported to GMC Baramulla, where he was pronounced dead.”
