Los Angeles, March 16 (NationPress) Singer-songwriter Will.i.am has stated that the video platform TikTok has revolutionized the music industry.

The 50-year-old artist, renowned as the frontman of the Black Eyed Peas, asserts that this video-sharing application has made a far more significant impact on the music business than AI, according to Female First UK.

In a conversation with Sky News, he elaborated, "I don't believe anything can dilute our industry more than TikTok has.”

According to Female First UK, the record producer noted that TikTok has altered how fans engage with music. He also feels that the app has prompted record labels to rethink their expectations from artists.

He remarked, "We once enjoyed three-minute songs, but now we’re reduced to nine seconds; TikTok and that algorithm transform what record companies seek, altering the very structure of songs… it’s been watered down.”

Meanwhile, fellow musician Caleb Followill, lead vocalist of Kings of Leon, has previously expressed that he feels "scared" of AI technology. Caleb admitted to feeling a "bit anxious" about the growing presence of AI in the music industry, although he humorously mentioned that he’s "kind of an old man".

He told Sky News, "I am a bit frightened of it, I think, maybe, just a little. I’ve seen things that make me a tad uneasy.”

Caleb also insists that AI is unnecessary to replicate the sound of Kings of Leon. As a co-founder of the well-known band for over 20 years, he explained, "When it comes to music, it doesn’t require AI to sound like us, good grief.”

“We are still mastering our craft, so our skill level is entirely achievable by just humans. It won’t take extraterrestrials or artificial intelligence," he added.
