New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) As the special Parliament session approaches on April 16, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed on Monday that both the party's female members and the general public are keenly anticipating the enactment of the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam”.
“A palpable sense of excitement and hope resonates among women throughout the nation concerning the debate and potential approval of this bill, which is a significant initiative by the Government of India under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at safeguarding women's rights,” he stated.
He noted that not only are politically active women engaged in discussions, but everyday citizens are also voicing strong support for the proposed legislation.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, daughter of the late legendary actor Rishi Kapoor and actress Neetu Singh Kapoor, who is renowned as a jewellery and fashion designer in Delhi, conversed with Sachdeva on Sunday through Delhi BJP spokesperson Neoma Gupta.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni applauded the BJP government's initiatives towards women's empowerment and expressed gratitude for the convening of a special Parliament session on April 16 dedicated to discussing and passing the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam”.
During a press conference on Monday, Delhi BJP Vice President Yogita Singh highlighted the support from notable figures such as entrepreneur and astronomer Sona Sahni Singh and Delhi University Associate Professor Sonali Chitalkar, representing the intellectual women of Delhi endorsing the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam”.
At the conference, a video statement from Riddhima Kapoor Sahni was presented in favor of the proposed legislation.
Yogita Singh remarked that since the time of independence, women have played a crucial role in nation-building, yet their participation in policy-making has been insufficient.
By introducing the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,” the BJP government is ensuring that women gain adequate representation in legislative bodies and Parliament, paving the way for a transformed India, she asserted.
In her video message, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni expressed, “Modi ji, I am deeply thankful for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. Your consideration for us means so much. This law will empower women to advance. They will acquire a renewed identity and respect.”
She added that women will find it easier to express themselves, grow stronger, and contribute to the nation's progress.
Sona Sahni Shukla expressed the privilege of living in Delhi, where women enjoy the freedom to pursue any ambition. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women are consistently serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, among other sectors, she noted.
