In an interview with IANS, Svane, a seasoned diplomat with extensive travels, recalled his visit to the Khavda RE park—the largest in the world—last November, where he was accompanied by ambassadors from the European Union (EU), Belgium, and Germany.
"I was truly astonished by the scale and strategic vision driving this initiative. It was enlightening, demonstrating the critical importance of the green transition and strategic cooperation in sustainability," he remarked.
Svane emphasized that projects focused on green energy not only enhance bilateral relations but are essential for humanity's future, stressing, "If we do not address the climate crisis, future generations will bear the consequences."
During their visit, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed his honor in hosting the diplomats.
Adani highlighted that discussions revolved around enhancing global collaborations to propel India’s energy transition and foster the hydrogen ecosystem.
"Hosting the ambassadors from the EU, Belgium, Denmark, and Germany at our facility was a great privilege. I am grateful for their visit to the world's largest renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat, and to India’s principal port, logistics, and industrial hub in Mundra," Adani shared via social media.
He noted that the discussions were insightful, concentrating on building global partnerships to facilitate India’s energy transition and expedite the hydrogen ecosystem, asserting: "At Adani, we are committed to advancing our ambitious renewable energy projects while ensuring a balanced energy mix that fosters a sustainable future for all of India."
Svane also expressed his satisfaction during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Denmark, stating, "We made significant progress in advancing our green strategic partnership, which is crucial."
"I hope this inspires others, as bilateral efforts alone are insufficient. We need a global response akin to the fight against terrorism," Svane added in his remarks to IANS.
PM Modi's official visit to Denmark occurred on May 3-4, 2022, where he engaged in bilateral discussions with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
During those meetings, the two leaders assessed the status of the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership and exchanged insights on regional and global matters of shared interest.
