Vishal Sikka Finds Inspiration in PM Modi’s Command Over Technology

New Delhi, Jan 4 (NationPress) Former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka remarked on Saturday that he felt privileged to have met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was inspired and humbled by the PM’s remarkable understanding of technology and its significance.

Sikka took to the social media platform X to share that he engaged in an in-depth conversation with PM Modi regarding artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential ramifications for India.

“It was a privilege to have an extensive discussion with the Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi about AI, its influence on India, and the critical steps that lie ahead,” said Sikka, who is the founder of the human-centered AI platform and products firm Vianai Systems.

“I walked away from the meeting feeling both inspired and humbled by his extraordinary understanding of technology's influence on society and how its implementation alongside democratic values can elevate everyone,” he continued.

Recently, PM Modi emphasized that India is focused on enhancing the application of AI across various sectors.

“This is the age of AI, and the global future is intertwined with it. India is driven by two AIs. For the world, it signifies Artificial Intelligence, but in India, it represents Aspirational India combined with Artificial Intelligence. The convergence of these two accelerates India's progress,” he stated.

In a significant move, India introduced the IndiaAI mission in 2024 to promote advancements in AI within the nation. The Cabinet has also sanctioned an investment exceeding Rs 10,300 crore for the IndiaAI Mission, which is a notable step towards strengthening the AI landscape in India.

Sikka served as the chief executive and managing director of Infosys from 2014 to 2017, being the first non-founder to lead the tech giant.

He stepped down from the company in 2017, reportedly due to disagreements with the founders and board members.

Since then, Sikka has been active in various initiatives, including his AI startup, Vianai Systems, which he established in 2019.
