Chennai, July 3 (NationPress) The producers of director Lokesh Kanakaraj's highly anticipated action thriller 'Coolie', starring the iconic Superstar Rajinikanth, revealed the identity and appearance of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's character on Thursday.
In a post on their X timeline, Sun Pictures, the film's production house, announced Aamir's role, stating, "#AamirKhan as Dahaa, from the world of #Coolie. #Coolie is ready to take over IMAX screens globally starting August 14th."
Aamir Khan's character is portrayed with a stylish flair, seen smoking a pipe, marking his cameo in this exciting film.
Last week, the production team also updated the title of the Hindi version from 'Majdoor' to 'Coolie The Powerhouse'.
'Coolie', anticipated to be an exhilarating action thriller, will also feature a star-studded cast including Nagarjuna from Telugu cinema, Kannada actor Upendra, Malayalam star Soubin Shahir, and Tamil actor Sathyaraj.
Additional cast members include Shruti Haasan, Rebe Monica John, and Junior MGR in significant roles.
The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, and editing done by Philomin Raj. The project is produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures.
This film is particularly exciting as it reunites actors Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth after nearly 38 years, their last collaboration being the blockbuster 'Mr Bharath' in 1986, where Sathyaraj portrayed Rajinikanth's father. Notably, Sathyaraj had previously declined roles in some of Rajinikanth's earlier projects such as 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'.
'Coolie', marking Rajinikanth's 171st film, will center around the theme of gold smuggling. Director Lokesh Kanakaraj has clarified that 'Coolie' will stand independently and is not a part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
