Hyderabad, March 10 (NationPress) - More than three months after the tragic loss of his mother and sustaining severe injuries in a stampede at a theater in Hyderabad during the premiere of "Pushpa 2", nine-year-old Sritej continues to show no neurological improvement and remains unable to recognize his family members.

The young boy is still hospitalized at KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.

Medical professionals attending to him report that he is not displaying any significant progress neurologically and still cannot recognize family members or comprehend simple verbal commands.

Doctors have noted that he experiences intermittent dystonia, characterized by increased movements in trying to lift his upper torso. He is receiving ongoing physiotherapy and rehabilitation support.

"Sritej is maintaining stable vital signs independently without the need for oxygen or ventilatory assistance. He required ventilatory help for a short duration of 1-2 days last month. To enhance his nutrition, he underwent an Endoscopic Gastrostomy procedure 10 days ago, allowing for direct nourishment through a wider tube into his stomach. He is tolerating feeds via the gastrostomy tube effectively," the hospital stated in a press release on Monday.

Revathi, aged 39, tragically lost her life, while her son suffered critical injuries during the stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, 2024, during the premiere of "Pushpa 2: The Rule".

Actor Allu Arjun, who was present at the event, has been charged alongside his team and theater management with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

He was arrested on December 13 but was granted interim bail the following day.

On December 25, Allu Arjun, along with the film's producers and director, pledged Rs 2 crore to support Revathi's family.

Allu Arjun contributed Rs 1 crore, while Mythri Movies, the movie's production house, provided Rs 50 lakh. The film's director, Sukumar, also donated Rs 50 lakh to the family.

On January 7, Allu Arjun visited the hospital to meet the boy and his family.
