Gaza, April 20 (NationPress) At least 29 Palestinians lost their lives during Israeli attacks on Gaza this past Sunday, as reported by the Civil Defence in Gaza.

Central Gaza saw a tragic airstrike that resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals, with additional injuries occurring when an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defence.

In the southern region of Gaza, an Israeli drone strike on a tent accommodating displaced individuals in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis city led to the death of a Palestinian woman and injuries to four others. Furthermore, four additional fatalities were reported in two separate Israeli assaults in the same city, Basal stated.

Additionally, one Palestinian was killed due to an Israeli artillery strike northwest of Rafah city, while another five were killed in a separate airstrike in the same area, where medical and Civil Defence teams face significant access challenges.

Moreover, eight Palestinians were killed in distinct Israeli airstrikes targeting gatherings in the al-Tuffah and al-Zaytoun neighborhoods in the southern and eastern parts of Gaza City, as well as in the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, Basal reported.

In the meantime, local sources indicated that Israeli artillery has been shelling Gaza's eastern outskirts, accompanied by gunfire from vehicles, drones, and helicopters, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

The Israeli military has yet to provide any comments regarding these incidents.

Since March 2, Israel has imposed a blockade on all humanitarian aid entering Gaza, subsequently ending a two-month ceasefire with Hamas on March 18, and resuming intense air and ground assaults on the territory.

The renewed Israeli offensive has resulted in the deaths of 1,827 Palestinians and injuries to 4,828 others, according to Gaza health authorities on Sunday, raising the overall death toll in the enclave since the onset of the conflict in October 2023 to 51,201, with 116,869 injured.

On March 18, the Israeli army initiated a sudden aerial campaign in the Gaza Strip, which has led to 855 deaths and nearly 1,900 injuries, disrupting a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been established in January between Israel and Hamas.

The UN has estimated that approximately 124,000 Palestinians have been displaced once again since the resumption of Israeli assaults on Gaza.
