BiH Border Police Intervene in Smuggling Operation

Sarajevo, Nov 30 (NationPress) The Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle six foreign nationals from Serbia into BiH, as per an official announcement.

The event transpired on Wednesday in the Zvornik region, where law enforcement officials apprehended five Indian nationals and one Nepalese national during a border surveillance operation. The individual piloting the boat, suspected of aiding the smuggling effort, fled back toward Serbia upon spotting the police, according to a report from Xinhua news agency.

The Border Police Station in Mali Zvornik, part of Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, has been notified to track down the suspect. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has instructed the confiscation of the boat and associated evidence, as stated in the announcement released on Friday.

The six foreign nationals were transferred to the BiH Service for Foreigners' Affairs for prompt readmission procedures.
