Sanaa, April 18 (NationPress) Yemen's Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi stated that his faction has executed 26 attacks against Israel and 33 strikes on US naval vessels since March 15.

In a broadcast speech on the group's al-Masirah TV on Thursday, the Houthi leader elaborated that the strikes on Israel were executed utilizing 30 ballistic missiles and drones, while the assaults on the USS Harry S. Truman and its accompanying ships involved 122 ballistic and cruise missiles, alongside drones.

However, reports indicate that the Israeli military successfully intercepted numerous Houthi missiles before they could reach their intended targets, according to Xinhua news agency.

The US Central Command characterized the Houthi assertions of ongoing attacks on the US aircraft carrier as “ridiculous” in a post on X, a social media platform.

In the meantime, the Houthi leader mentioned that the US military has executed over 900 airstrikes targeting Houthi positions in northern Yemen over the past month.

Tensions have heightened between the Houthi faction and the US military since Washington recommenced airstrikes on Houthi positions on March 15, aiming to dissuade the group from attacking Israel and US naval assets in the Red Sea.

The Houthis, who have control over much of northern Yemen, claim their strikes are intended to compel the US-backed Israel to cease its offensive in the Gaza Strip and permit humanitarian assistance into the Palestinian region.

Israel's Channel 12 News reported last Saturday that a Houthi drone was intercepted near the Dead Sea within Jordanian airspace before it could reach Israel.

The Jordanian army later confirmed that an unidentified drone entered Jordanian territory and crashed in the Ma'in region of the Madaba governorate, close to the Dead Sea, with no casualties reported.

Since Israel intensified its strikes in March across the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have been continually targeting Israeli and US positions.

Earlier last week, the Houthi military spokesperson announced additional assaults on the US aircraft carrier, USS Harry S. Truman, and other US ships in the northern Red Sea.

On March 15, the US military resumed airstrikes against Houthi targets to deter the group from initiating attacks on Israel and US naval vessels in the Red Sea.
