AIMIM Backs Prashant Kishor Amid BPSC Protests, Criticizes Bihar Government

Patna, Jan 6 (NationPress) The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), spearheaded by its leader Asaduddin Owaisi, has shown its backing for Prashant Kishor, President of the Jan Suraaj Party, along with the demands of students who are protesting against supposed irregularities in the 70th BPSC Preliminary examination.

While addressing reporters in Kishanganj, Bihar, State Party President Akhtarul Iman condemned the actions taken against Kishor and his supporters during their hunger strike at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

"We demand the cancellation of the 70th BPSC examination. Every individual has the right to protest peacefully. It is unacceptable for the police to prevent the BPSC candidates from fasting," said Iman.

Iman assured AIMIM's support for the students' demands and criticized the Bihar government's approach to the protests.

He expressed his indignation over reports of police misconduct, particularly the alleged slapping of Prashant Kishor during his detention.

"If the slapping incident is accurate, as depicted in the image, then this slap is not just aimed at Prashant Kishor but at democracy itself," Iman stated.

He urged for accountability and swift action against those responsible.

Iman accused the Bihar government of employing authoritarian tactics to silence dissent.

He highlighted the allegations against BPSC Chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai and stressed the necessity for transparency.

"Is this government free from corruption? Numerous allegations have been made against the BPSC Chairman, and the government is resorting to oppressive measures," he remarked.

AIMIM has reiterated its call for the 70th BPSC Preliminary examination to be conducted again, aligning with the concerns of the protesting students.

"We stand firmly with the BPSC candidates' demands. Irregularities occurred during the examination, and we seek justice for the students," Iman added.

AIMIM's endorsement underscores the increasing political momentum surrounding the students' movement in Bihar, intensifying pressure on the Nitish Kumar government to address the allegations of irregularities in the BPSC examination.

With various parties and leaders like Prashant Kishor advocating for the cause, this issue is swiftly becoming a central topic in Bihar's political dialogue.
