Assam: Union Government Collaborates for Investor Summit, Says CM Sarma

New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Friday that the Union government has been taking a proactive role in teaming up with the state government to host the Advantage Assam 2.0 investor summit in February of the coming year.

In a post on X, CM Sarma mentioned, "The Union government is actively partnering with us to ensure #AdvantageAssam 2025 highlights Assam's investment potential. Each Ministry has provided their unwavering support for this initiative."

The summit is expected to see participation from key officials of the Central government, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, among others.

CM Sarma remarked, "All Union Ministers have committed to participating and collaborating to ensure the success of the Summit."

He further emphasized that Assam holds a significant position in the Central government's priorities.

"From the Prime Minister to Union Ministers, the entire government apparatus is dedicated to aiding us in constructing a Viksit Assam," he added.

CM Sarma also noted, "There is broad recognition of the progress Assam has made, especially in reforming and implementing a citizen-centric governance approach."

The Chief Minister engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and extended an invitation for him to attend the summit.

According to CM Sarma, the Prime Minister has consented to inaugurate the investor summit.

He expressed in a post on X, "Concluded a highly significant visit to Delhi where I had the honor to seek guidance from Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, meet various Union Ministers and participate in the remarkable #AshtalakshmiMahotsav2024."

Notably, the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit aims to showcase Assam's rich cultural heritage on a global platform.

CM Sarma indicated that the event, scheduled for February 24 and 25, will feature the traditional Jhumur dance performed by tea tribe clans.

A breathtaking performance of the Jhumur dance, with over 7,500 dancers and artists, is planned as part of the event. Preparations for this cultural showcase are currently in progress.

The concert, aimed to be held on either day of the summit, is expected to leave a lasting impression on all attendees.

This initiative follows Assam's remarkable achievement of setting a Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance.

The objective of Advantage Assam 2.0, marking the second edition of the international investor summit since its inception in 2018, is to promote infrastructure growth and attract investments in the state.

The two-day event is anticipated to attract investors from across India and around the globe, reinforcing Assam's reputation as a burgeoning investment hub in the country.
