Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 17 (NationPress) The Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, Nripendra Misra, announced on Tuesday that the construction of the Ram Mandir temple is progressing well, with most assigned tasks approaching completion and overall operations largely under control.
Discussing the ongoing advancements at the Ram Mandir complex, Misra pointed out that the primary construction efforts are now concentrated on the Martyrs’ Memorial and the preservation of the site where the previous temple once existed.
“Currently, the main construction activities are specifically directed towards the Martyrs’ Memorial. The site where the old temple was located and the deity was enshrined will also be preserved as a memorial, with both projects underway,” he stated, expressing optimism that these initiatives would wrap up by March 31 or April 30.
Misra emphasized that the most significant challenge facing the committee at this time is the development of the temple museum. He mentioned that the museum project is being continually assessed, with detailed content planning currently in progress.
“Scripts are being crafted for the materials that will occupy the museum’s 20 galleries,” he explained.
He also disclosed that a dedicated gallery focused on Lord Hanuman is being developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and is expected to be finalized by the end of September. Misra suggested that limited public access to the museum might be permitted post-completion.
“I would request that ordinary devotees be granted limited entry into the museum after September,” he remarked.
Misra also addressed the arrangements for devotees in light of the anticipated visit from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on March 19. He stated that public darshan would commence in a controlled manner following this high-profile visit.
“Initially, arrangements will be made to issue passes for approximately 1,000 to 1,500 devotees, allowing them access to all areas,” he noted, adding that the President's visit is expected to last around four hours.
Reiterating the overall progress, Misra reaffirmed that the committee remains dedicated to completing all remaining tasks within the designated timeline while ensuring appropriate facilities for pilgrims and visitors.
