Golden Pinnacle Set to Accent Ram Mandir as Construction Progresses

New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) The construction of the magnificent Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is accelerating, with notable updates highlighting the path toward its completion. The 161-foot pinnacle of the temple, a crucial architectural feature, will be partially gilded.

The gold adornment will extend approximately ten feet from the top of the shikhara (spire), producing a stunning visual effect.

Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, provided updates on the progress, stating, "The work is moving forward as planned, although we strive to increase the speed. The workforce has expanded, but it still slightly lags behind our expectations. Completing the temple by mid-March is our primary goal."

Besides the main temple, seven smaller temples, referred to as the Sapt Mandap, are also on schedule for completion within the same period. Misra noted that around 75 percent of the stone carving tasks and finishing touches should be completed by this stage. One of the most elaborate features, the 500-foot-long carving illustrating the Ram Katha, has already been completed, and preparations are being made for its installation.

Initiatives to improve amenities for visitors are also underway. The Yatri Suvidha Kendra (tourist facilitation center), power distribution substations, and a sewage treatment facility are anticipated to be handed over to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust by January 2025.

"Our objective is to guarantee these additional structures are fully functional and ready to accommodate the influx of devotees," Misra remarked.

The Ram Mandir is a Hindu temple located in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The sanctum sanctorum and first floor were completed in January 2024, and the idol of Ramlalla, representing Lord Ram in his childhood form, was consecrated on January 22, 2024.
