New Delhi, Jan 14 (NationPress) The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) has integrated its AI-driven language translation tool -- Bhashini -- at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, taking place from January 13 to February 26, to enhance accessibility in 11 languages.

The Ministry highlighted that Bhashini’s language translation ecosystem will assist attendees of the world’s largest spiritual gathering through the Digital Lost & Found Solution.

Individuals can register lost/found items using voice in their native languages and utilize the platform for real-time text/voice translation, facilitating smooth communication at this grand event. Additionally, it offers multilingual chatbot support for inquiries and kiosk navigation.

Devotees can leverage the mobile application for translating guidelines into local languages, ensuring seamless interactions with police personnel.

In parallel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kumbh Sah’AI’yak chatbot -- an AI-powered, multilingual, voice-enabled chatbot created to aid millions of visitors during Mahakumbh 2025.

This chatbot, utilizing advanced AI technologies (such as Llama LLM), is designed to offer uninterrupted, real-time information and navigation support for everyone. With the backing of Bhashini’s language translation, the chatbot operates in 11 languages, including Hindi, English, and nine other Indian languages.

Moreover, the Bhashini mobile app’s Converse feature is tailored to ensure effortless communication for devotees with the UP Police’s 112 emergency helpline deployed at the event.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Department has partnered with the Bhashini App to train field officers in utilizing the Converse feature to comprehend the issues faced by distressed devotees who might encounter language barriers when seeking assistance.

Bhashini, therefore, aspires to significantly enrich the experience for visitors at MahaKumbh 2025 with multilingual support for inquiries and navigation. Bhashini's language translation ecosystem guarantees a smooth and inclusive experience for all attendees, showcasing MeitY’s dedication to technological innovation and accessibility,” stated the ministry.
