BSF Halts Pakistani Drone Smuggling Attempt at Jammu Border

Jammu, Dec 15, (NationPress) The BSF successfully intercepted a Pakistani drone laden with narcotics at the international border in the Arnia sector of Jammu, according to a statement released on Sunday.
"On Dec 14, 2024, around 2010 hrs, vigilant troops from BSF Jammu, stationed in the Arnia Sector, thwarted a smuggling attempt by intercepting the Pakistani drone and seizing 495 grams of narcotic substances," the statement elaborated.
The statement further acknowledged, "The unwavering commitment and sharp vigilance of the BSF Jammu personnel have once again dismantled the evil intentions of anti-national elements, demonstrating their steadfast dedication to the nation’s security."
In addition to narcotics, Pakistan has been using drones to transport weapons across the border.
Recently, there has been a surge in encounters between terrorists and security forces throughout Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists and their leaders, as Pakistan intensifies its infiltration efforts along the LoC and attempts to deliver weaponry.
Multiple instances of weapon drops by drones from Pakistan near the international border in Jammu have been reported for the benefit of terrorists operating in the Jammu and Kashmir region.
The BSF has uncovered numerous weapon caches in recent times, successfully thwarting the plans of terrorists and their supporters across the border.
While the army remains vigilant against infiltration attempts along the LoC, terrorist operations are increasingly spreading to other regions of Jammu and Kashmir, including areas previously declared militancy-free like Chenab Valley, Udhampur, and Kathua.
Ongoing anti-terror operations in Kashmir have driven terrorists to the mountains, where they lie in wait for the opportune moment to target security forces.
Experts suggest that a comprehensive strategy is essential to tackle the growing militancy in Jammu, which includes improved intelligence gathering and enhanced coordination among security forces.
The string of terror attacks underscores the urgent need to reassess and fortify the security grid to ensure the safety and stability of the region.
