Two Drug Traffickers Captured with Heroin Near the LoC in Rajouri, J&K

Jammu, December 16 (NationPress) Two individuals involved in drug trafficking were apprehended on Monday, with 5.50 kg of heroin confiscated during the operation in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The value of the seized heroin is estimated to be in crores on the international market. This operation was a collaborative effort between the police and the army in the Nowshera sector, aimed at curbing the flow of illegal substances from across the Line of Control (LoC). The suspects, identified as Sahab Kumar, aged 25, and Subhash Chander, aged 36, were arrested during a joint operation conducted by the army and police in the villages of Sher and Kaneti late last evening,” officials stated.

On the previous day, personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 495 grams of illegal substances that were delivered via a drone from Pakistan, in the Arnia sector of Jammu district.

A state-of-the-art anti-drone system has been deployed along the international border in J&K, specifically in the districts of Jammu, Samba, and Kathua.

The IG of BSF frontier Jammu announced at a press conference two days ago that the implementation of this anti-drone system has significantly reduced the likelihood of drones being employed from the Pakistani side to drop weapons, drugs, and cash.

It is important to note that various terrorist organizations, with the support of the Pakistani army and rangers guarding the international border and the LoC, utilize drones to transport weapons, drugs, and cash into India.

These deliveries are intended for collection by terrorists, their over-ground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers, aiming to disrupt peace in the union territory.

Following the peaceful participation of locals in the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections, terrorist activities have surged in J&K. Security forces have indicated that this escalation has unsettled the terror handlers across the border, who have instructed terrorists to deliver a final blow to the waning terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
