Is Claiming Foreign Technology as Indian Damaging Our Image? Chirag Paswan Weighs In on Galgotias University Controversy
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 19 (NationPress) Union Minister and President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, has voiced his concerns regarding the controversy involving a robot presented by Galgotias University at the AI Summit, labeling the situation as profoundly detrimental to the nation's reputation.
In response to accusations that a robot manufactured in China was misrepresented as a homegrown innovation, Chirag Paswan emphasized that this was a significant misjudgment.
“It is entirely inappropriate for any educational institution to showcase and assert ownership of something that is not of Indian origin. There were attempts to mislead during the summit. Misrepresenting foreign technology as indigenous is a serious issue and can damage India’s standing on the global stage,” he articulated.
He expressed his belief that once the summit concludes, the government will take serious note of the situation and respond accordingly.
Addressing calls from certain Muslim groups to close liquor shops during Ramazan in Delhi, Chirag Paswan staunchly defended individual freedom and personal choice.
As the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, he remarked: “The government’s role is to ensure the quality and safety of food and beverages. However, mandating closures for any festival—Hindu or Muslim—is not aligned with our party's principles.”
He warned against the politicization of religious celebrations, underlining that personal liberties must be upheld in all situations.
Chirag Paswan also raised alarms over the suspicious passing of a NEET aspirant and the alleged threats faced by the victim’s family.
“If the victim’s family is facing intimidation, it is the government’s responsibility to guarantee their safety, ensuring that justice can be served without fear,” he stated.
He reiterated his commitment to accountability regarding examination-related misconduct, recalling his consistent advocacy for severe penalties for those involved in fraudulent activities.
Through his statements, Chirag Paswan conveyed a powerful message about ethical practices in innovation, the safeguarding of civil rights, and zero tolerance for intimidation in sensitive matters, calling for transparency, accountability, and justice.
