The complaint involved four additional social media influencers alongside Allahbadia.

Sarma stated, “Today @GuwahatiPol has registered an FIR against certain YouTubers and social influencers, specifically 1. Shri Ashish Chanchlani 2. Shri Jaspreet Singh 3. Shri Apoorva Makhija 4. Shri Ranveer Allahbadia 5. Shri Samay Raina and others for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussions in a show titled ‘India's Got Latent’. An investigation is currently in progress.”

In the meantime, Ranveer Allahbadia has publicly apologized after his remarks made during the ‘India's Got Latent’ show triggered significant backlash. Known for his BeerBiceps brand, Allahbadia took to social media to express remorse over his comment, acknowledging it was “not appropriate” and “not even funny.”

In a video address, Ranveer stated, “My comment was not appropriate, was not even funny; comedy is not my forte, and I am here to apologize. Many of you asked if this is how I use my platform, and obviously, this is not my intention.”

He further added, “I will not provide any context, justification, or reasoning for my actions. I am simply extending an apology. I personally experienced a lapse in judgment; it was not cool on my end. The podcast is viewed by audiences of all ages, and I do not wish to be someone who lacks responsibility; family is the last thing I would ever intend to disrespect. I need to utilize this platform more responsibly; that has been my learning from this experience. I promise to improve; I have requested the makers to eliminate the insensitive segment from the video. I sincerely apologize and hope for your forgiveness as a human being.”

While sharing the video, Allahbadia wrote on his X handle, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry.”

His apology follows severe criticism on social media for his vulgar comment.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also criticized Ranveer, stating that anyone who crosses the limits of decency will face appropriate consequences. Addressing the media, the CM remarked, “I have been informed about this, though I have not viewed it yet. I learned that it was very vulgar, which is unacceptable. Everyone has freedom of speech, but this freedom ceases when it intrudes upon others' freedom. Everyone has boundaries, and if anyone crosses them, action will be taken.”

Two attorneys from Mumbai have lodged a police complaint against Allahbadia.

Recently, Ranveer Allahbadia appeared on Samay Raina's show ‘India's Got Latent’ alongside other content creators such as Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija.

Allahbadia raised eyebrows for posing an inappropriate question to a contestant, asking her, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”
