Gurugram, April 13 (NationPress) A team from the crime branch of the Gurugram Police apprehended five individuals accused of robbing a medical store at gunpoint and subsequently fleeing, officials reported on Sunday.
The identified suspects include Ashutosh, Ajay, Ashish Pal, and Krishna, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh, along with Manish, a resident of Rewari in Haryana.
Officials stated that two country-made pistols, a helmet utilized during the crime, and cash amounting to Rs 1.10 lakh were seized from the accused.
The police received a complaint on March 31 at the Bajghera Police Station in Gurugram, from an employee of a medical store located in Sai Chowk, New Palam Vihar Phase-3. The complainant reported that around 10:00 p.m. on March 30, three individuals entered the store, with two of them wearing helmets. They requested certain medicines, which the employee was unable to provide, leading to a threat with a pistol, followed by the robbery and their escape.
Following the complaint, a case was lodged under the applicable sections at the Bajghera Police Station. The Crime Branch Palam Vihar, Gurugram, conducted an investigation and arrested the five suspects linked to this incident.
The police captured suspects Ashutosh, Manish, Ajay, and Ashish Pal on April 9 near Basai Chowk, Gurugram, while Krishna was apprehended on Saturday in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, according to officials.
During questioning, the accused disclosed their involvement in another armed robbery in Gurugram. They further revealed that Krishna had provided the weapons utilized in the robbery to the other four.
The suspects conducted surveillance outside the store at night and executed the robbery shortly before closing time. Ashutosh, Manish, Ajay, and Ashish Pal were presented in court and placed in three-day police custody, stated Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram Police.
