New Delhi, April 7 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh has vehemently criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday, accusing them of engaging in "appeasement politics" and fostering an environment of fear and insecurity in West Bengal.

During an interview with IANS, Singh claimed that the conditions in West Bengal have worsened to a point where it has become a "fight for survival" for its residents. He stated, "Mamata Banerjee can create whatever illusions she desires, but the reality is far more severe. This time, it’s a struggle for survival. The residents will either endure, or they will be ruled by Bangladeshis under her governance. A minor misstep could lead to a life-and-death situation."

The Union Minister went on to assert that the populace in the state is living in constant dread and is compelled to fight for their existence. He recalled a historical slogan, stating, "We used to say: ‘If you wish to live, you must learn to die; at every turn, be prepared to battle.’ Today, the people of West Bengal are in a struggle for survival—questioning whether non-Bangladeshi Muslims can coexist there. Hindus are also facing a grave crisis. It’s become a matter of life or death."

Singh emphasized that these dire circumstances have instigated anxiety within the state's ruling leadership. "This is why Mamata Banerjee is feeling the pressure, as the populace is becoming increasingly aware of the ground realities and their dissatisfaction is growing," he added.

In his critique of Congress chief Kharge, Singh condemned his recent statements, alleging that opposition leaders are out of touch with wider national issues. "Both Mamata Banerjee and Mallikarjun Kharge seem to only recognize 'namaz'. Kharge remarked that if one spots a snake while praying, the snake should be killed first. However, the true 'snake' here is themselves, who have plundered the nation," Singh commented.

He further accused opposition parties of promoting divisive politics, asserting that such actions threaten national unity. "As long as the BJP and the RSS exist, there will be no place in the country for those who incite terror or act against national interests," he stated.

Continuing his critique, Singh asserted that certain leaders selectively use religious references. "They consistently align with those performing namaz, which is why their illustrations revolve solely around it. They have failed to provide any examples concerning temples," he concluded.
