Gandhinagar, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Gujarat state government hosted the Gujarat SpaceTech Round Table in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
The prestigious event culminated in the signing of six significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and facilitated direct Business-to-Government (B2G) interactions with eight prominent companies, with the goal of boosting innovation, investment, and cooperation in the space technology domain.
Taking place at the boardroom of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), the roundtable gathered senior government officials, space technology specialists, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs for strategic dialogue and collaborative ventures.
This occasion marked a significant step in Gujarat's aspiration to become a national and international frontrunner in SpaceTech. The roundtable began with an informal networking session, followed by an opening address by Neha Kumari, IAS, Mission Director of the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), who elaborated on Gujarat’s extensive SpaceTech initiatives and its aim to make substantial contributions to India's space sector.
Insights on national space advancements were shared by D.K. Patel from SAC-ISRO and Rajiv Jyoti, Technical Director at IN-SPACe. Arjun Modhwadia, Minister of Science and Technology, along with P. Bharati, IAS, Secretary of the Science and Technology Department, presented Gujarat’s strategic framework for nurturing growth and innovation in the space industry.
In his address, Modhwadia reaffirmed the state government's dedication to establishing a robust SpaceTech ecosystem supported by strong policies, industry collaborations, and infrastructure backing.
Highlighting the broader national context, the minister stated that India is under transformative leadership from the Prime Minister, characterized by responsive governance and proactive administrative follow-up.
“This is New India, where innovation is embraced, and collaboration is actively pursued,” he remarked, adding that Gujarat is wholly committed to providing avenues for innovators and investors to flourish in the space economy.
