Haryana Governor Highlights IT as a Key Tool Against Corruption

Chandigarh, Dec 25 (NationPress) Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday stressed that information technology (IT) serves as the most powerful tool for fostering transparency, enhancing good governance, and combating corruption.
During the 'Good Governance Day' celebration held at LNJP Hospital in Kurukshetra, which coincided with the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Governor Dattatraya highlighted the initiatives taken by the state government to shift from outdated methods to a more public-friendly framework, which has seen considerable success.
Prior to his speech, Governor Dattatraya paid floral tributes to a portrait of the former Prime Minister, distributed fruits to patients, and conveyed his wishes for 'Good Governance Day' to the residents of the state.
The Governor formally commenced the 'Good Governance Day' celebrations by lighting a ceremonial lamp.
Throughout the event, he engaged with patients, conversed with hospital doctors and staff, and participated in a group photograph.
Governor Dattatraya pointed out that the state government is conducting events in every district on Good Governance Day to reinforce governance principles.
While reflecting on former PM Vajpayee's enduring legacy, he remarked that the late Prime Minister devoted his life to societal advancement, tirelessly working for the nation’s progress through inclusive development.
"Late Vajpayee ji was a genuine patriot who served the nation selflessly, and his birth anniversary is now observed throughout the country as Good Governance Day," stated Governor Dattatraya, stressing the importance of the younger generation drawing lessons from Vajpayee's remarkable life.
He also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in line with Vajpayee's vision, has enacted welfare-focused policies aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting holistic development.
These initiatives are complemented by governance reforms and the launch of 'Digital India' to ensure that such programs are accessible to every citizen.
