As per the Chief Minister, the state is currently developing 23 medical colleges, with plans to commence work on three additional colleges within the next year.

CM Sarma further mentioned that there is at least one university located in every district throughout Assam. “We have successfully established universities in Hojai, Nagon, Cachar, Bajali, and Lakhimpur - nearly every district is either home to a university under construction or one that will soon be completed,” he noted.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the government's initiative to construct a bridge over the Brahmaputra in each district.
He expressed, “Alongside universities and medical colleges, we are building bridges across the Brahmaputra River. It is astonishing how rapidly Assam is progressing. We will soon be recognized as one of the developed states in the nation.”
