Earlier, Home Minister Shah visited the BSF Border Outpost ‘Vinay’ in Kathua district, addressing the BSF troops stationed there.
The Union Home Minister remarked that one cannot fully understand the challenging conditions under which the BSF personnel operate unless they experience the border situation firsthand.
“In torrential rains, severe cold, or sweltering heat, you fulfill your duties year-round, around the clock. Your vigilance at the border has brought honor and recognition to the BSF, which you rightly deserve,” he stated.
“We are equipping the BSF with advanced technology for improved border surveillance. High mast lights have been set up along the international boundary, and new barracks have been constructed. As your Home Minister, I am committed to ensuring your welfare and well-being. The BSF has a storied history, having participated in all wars fought by India against Pakistan,” HM Shah added.
Later, he engaged with the soldiers and field commanders, visiting the barracks to understand the living conditions of the BSF troops.
Accompanying the Home Minister during his border visit were J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Home Secretary Gobind Mohan, IB Director Tapan Deka, BSF DG, and other senior officers.
