Itanagar, April 23 (NationPress) An Indian Air Force (IAF) Corporal, Tage Hailyang, from Arunachal Pradesh, tragically lost his life in a terror attack that occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his sorrow on Wednesday, revealing that Corporal Hailyang was stationed at the IAF base in Srinagar.

In a message posted on X, the Chief Minister stated: "I am deeply saddened by the heartbreaking loss of Corporal Tage Hailyang, a brave son of Arunachal Pradesh, who was from Tajang village in Lower Subansiri."

"During a visit to Pahalgam with his wife, Hailyang's life was tragically cut short in a senseless act of terror. He dedicated his life to serving the nation with courage and honour, and his premature passing is a significant loss not just for his family but for the entire country," CM Khandu remarked.

CM Khandu expressed his condolences, stating, "Our hearts go out to his family, especially his wife, who endured this horrific event. May they find strength and comfort during this unimaginable time of sorrow. We will always honor Corporal Hailyang for his service and sacrifice. Om Mani Padme Hum."

The body of Hailyang is expected to be transported to Guwahati on Wednesday afternoon, before being taken to Arunachal Pradesh for his final rites.

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday resulted in 16 fatalities and numerous injuries.

Governors and Chief Ministers from the northeastern states have condemned this terror attack.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on X: "I firmly believe that Bharat will track down every single coward responsible for this heinous attack in Pahalgam. The nation stands united with the grieving families during this time of sorrow."

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha remarked: "I strongly condemn the cowardly attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. My condolences to the families who have lost loved ones. I pray for the swift recovery of the injured."

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma denounced the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, stating: "This heinous act of violence has inflicted immense suffering and caused the loss of precious lives."

"We vehemently condemn this senseless act that targeted innocent individuals and caused irreparable harm to families and communities. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and we stand in solidarity with those affected. In the face of hatred and violence, I call upon everyone to unite against terrorism," CM Sangma added.
