Patna, July 7 (NationPress) A junior engineer tragically lost his life during the early morning hours of Monday in the Kazi Mohammadpur region of Muzaffarpur after confronting intruders who broke into his residence, according to police reports.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Kazi Mohammadpur police station confirmed the victim's identity as Mohammad Mumtaz. He was attacked when he bravely tried to resist the thieves who invaded his home on Ramraji Road between 3 and 4 AM with the intent to steal valuables.
Mumtaz, who was stationed in the Bhagwanpur block of Vaishali district, was at home with his wife and two children at the time of this harrowing incident.
At the moment of the attack, he was in a separate room while his family was in another. Upon waking, he attempted to thwart the robbery, resulting in a violent struggle with the assailants.
The assailants struck with sharp weapons, leaving Mumtaz deceased at the scene. Alarmingly, his wife, who was in another room, remained unaware of the violent confrontation and the subsequent murder.
The criminals also vandalized the CCTV DVR system before making their escape.
