New Delhi, Jan 21 (NationPress) A leader from the AAP who provided surety for Arvind Kejriwal in his bail request related to the excise policy scandal has officially joined the BJP on Tuesday. This was confirmed by Vijender Gupta, the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and BJP candidate for the Rohini constituency.

During a press conference at the Delhi BJP office, Gupta, accompanied by Union Minister Harsh Malhotra and Kuldeep Mittal, a former AAP candidate for the Rohini municipal elections, welcomed Mittal into the party.

Gupta highlighted that Mittal is a prominent AAP leader from the Rohini region and a significant contender for the AAP ticket in the ongoing Assembly elections.

At this event, Gupta voiced strong criticism over Kejriwal’s purported comments concerning a narrative from the Ramayana. He insisted that Kejriwal should apologize to the entire Hindu community, asserting that his remarks were disrespectful to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.

Gupta lamented that it is unfortunate for a former chief minister of Delhi to exhibit such ignorance about the Ramayana, revealing the contradictions in his claimed devotion to Sanatan Dharma.

He accused Kejriwal of distorting a well-known episode that every child in India is familiar with, making a disgraceful mockery of the beliefs cherished by millions of Hindus.

While critiquing Kejriwal, he emphasized that someone opposing the construction of the Ram Temple should be aware that Lord Ram is central to the faith of countless Hindus. He described Kejriwal’s statements, which seem aimed at gaining electoral support and appeasing a specific community, as shameful.

Gupta concluded by stating that the nation’s 1.4 billion Hindus will not forget Kejriwal’s comments and will respond by ensuring that he and his party face significant losses in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
