Kolkata, March 5 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, is set to travel to the UK to present a lecture at the prestigious Oxford University.

The invitation for this lecture was extended to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) last year.

According to the itinerary, the Chief Minister will depart from Kolkata to Dubai on March 21, before continuing her journey to London.

“In addition to her lecture at Oxford University, the Chief Minister has several other engagements planned in the UK. She is anticipated to meet with UK-based industrialists to explore investment opportunities in West Bengal,” remarked a state government representative.

However, the specific topic of her address at Oxford University has not yet been disclosed.

Previously, she received an invitation in 2021 to speak at Oxford University, but the Trinamool Congress claimed that the event was canceled due to covert actions by the Central Government.

In 2015, the Chief Minister visited the UK, accompanied by several cabinet members, including the then Finance Minister Amit Mitra, who currently serves as her Chief Economic Advisor.

Earlier in 2023, she traveled to Spain to seek investments for her state.
