Kolkata, May 7 (NationPress) A post by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee praising India, likely in reference to ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeting Pakistan, drew sarcastic remarks from users on social media on Wednesday morning.
The Chief Minister, known for concluding her statements with the slogan “Jai Bangla”, shared a message on her official X account that stated “Jai Hind! Jai India!”
Following this post, users quickly responded with mockery.
One individual speculated whether the Chief Minister’s X account had been compromised, questioning if the message “Jai Hind! Jai India!” was the result of hacking.
“Very unlikely post. Account hacked????” was one of the replies.
Another user recalled her prior demand in March 2019 for the Union government to provide proof of the Indian Air Force’s strike in Balakot, Pakistan.
At that time, Mamata Banerjee asserted that the Indian populace deserved clarity on the impact of the operations.
“When India retaliates, Mamata Banerjee, you tweeted ‘Jai Hind! Jai India’. But in 2019, you commended the IAF one moment and sought evidence the next — casting doubt on their bravery. Patriotism shouldn’t be seasonal, Didi. Cease the chameleon politics,” commented another user.
A third response urged the Chief Minister to direct the Trinamool Congress’s Information Technology wing to promote nationalism for the upcoming days.
Another user reminded her of past criticisms directed at the Indian Army.
“Remember how you criticized the Indian Army! Why can't you post in appreciation of the Armed Forces and the Modi government? Is it that difficult? The Quam must be feeling so hurt,” was the reply.
