Mangaluru, January 23 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have taken into custody 10 individuals, including Prasad Attavar, the founder of Ram Sene, in relation to the violent incident that occurred at a massage parlour in the sensitive region of Mangaluru, police sources disclosed on Thursday.

As reported by the police, Prasad Attavar along with nine other members stormed the massage parlour, causing significant damage to furniture and equipment.

Attavar was apprehended at his home, and more information regarding subsequent legal actions is pending.

Previously, members of Ram Sene attacked the massage centre, claiming that the management was involved in unlawful activities.

Police stated that the Hindu activists, led by local figure Prasad Attavara, forcibly entered the massage parlour situated in the Bijai area and vandalized its furnishings and glassware.

Reportedly, a total of 12 individuals were involved in the destruction at the massage establishment.

In response to the incident, the state’s Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, remarked that he has instructed the police to swiftly apprehend all involved individuals.

“We are uncertain about the reasons behind the attack. I have mandated that actions be taken in accordance with the law. Such incidents are unacceptable and businesses should operate without interference. No one is entitled to take the law into their own hands,” Parameshwara stated.

He emphasized that if there are establishments engaging in illegal actions, it is essential to report them to the authorities, who will take necessary measures.

“Civil authorities must have provided guidelines for operating their business. If these are not followed, the authorities will take appropriate action,” Parameshwara added.

Dinesh Gundu Rao, the district minister for health overseeing Mangaluru, condemned the incident.

He stated, "Acts of hooliganism are being conducted under the name of Sri Ram Sene. Engaging in such behavior is a disgrace to Lord Rama. No one possesses the right to take the law into their own hands. Such violence and disturbances associated with Sri Ram Sene are intolerable.”

“If any illegal activity is occurring, it should be reported to the police. Resorting to destruction and behaving like hooligans is not acceptable. Everyone should comply with the law and uphold peace and order,” Minister Rao stated.

“Clear directives have been issued to law enforcement to impose strict penalties on those involved in such acts. Committing these actions in the name of a deity is a dishonor to Lord Rama. Hindu organizations must also denounce such conduct,” Rao emphasized.

“If anyone engages in moral policing and takes the law into their own hands, we will enforce strict repercussions. Continuing this behavior threatens the future development of areas like Mangaluru,” he cautioned.

Furthermore, he noted that since the Congress government assumed power, efforts have been made to maintain law and order in the state; however, certain organizations are attempting to disrupt peace, which poses a threat to the state's stability.

Meanwhile, Sri Ram Sene has stated that they are not connected to the attackers.

Prasad Attavar informed the media that the violence was executed by Ram Sene activists.

“Drugs were allegedly administered to young girls aged between 18 and 19, who were then exploited for prostitution. One of the girls, a relative of our member, was trapped here. We attacked the centre based on a tip-off. There are 25 massage parlours in Mangaluru. This specific parlour was targeted due to information regarding illegal operations. Our intention was to protect the girls,” he asserted.

However, the massage parlour's owner, Sudheer, stated that the assailants brought an item with them and left it in the parlour.

“The parlour has operated for two years with all necessary documents and licenses,” he concluded.
