Mangaluru, Jan 23 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have apprehended 10 individuals, including Prasad Attavar, the founder of Ram Sena, in relation to the violent incident at a massage parlour in the communal hotspot of Mangaluru city, as confirmed by police sources on Thursday.

The police reported that Attavar, along with nine other activists, forcefully entered the massage parlour, causing damage to furniture and equipment. Attavar was taken into custody from his home, with further details regarding legal actions pending.

Previously, workers aligned with Ram Sena targeted the massage centre, accusing its management of conducting illicit activities.

As per police reports, the Hindu activists, under the leadership of local figure Prasad Attavar, invaded the massage parlour situated in the Bijai area, shattering furniture and glass objects.

It has been reported that a group of 12 individuals wreaked havoc inside the massage parlour.

In response to this occurrence, G. Parameshwara, the state Home Minister, stated that he has instructed the police to swiftly apprehend those involved.

“We are unclear on the reasons behind this attack. I have directed that actions be taken according to the law. Such incidents are unacceptable. There should be no hindrance to their business operations, and no one should take the law into their own hands,” Parameshwara declared.

He emphasized that if any centres are engaged in illegal activities, complaints should be lodged with the authorities, assuring that police will take appropriate actions.

“Business operations are subject to stipulations from civil authorities. If these conditions are violated, the authorities will take action,” Parameshwara added.

Dinesh Gundu Rao, the Health Minister overseeing Mangaluru district, condemned the incident.

He stated, "Acts of hooliganism under the banner of Sri Ram Sene are intolerable. No one should tarnish Lord Rama's name through such actions. Taking the law into one’s own hands is unjustifiable. Violence and disturbances in the name of Sri Ram Sene cannot be accepted.”

“If illegal activities are suspected, they must be reported to the police. Resorting to destruction and acting like hooligans is not the solution. It is essential for everyone to follow the law and uphold peace and order,” Minister Rao asserted.

“Police have been given strict orders to implement rigorous actions against such individuals. Engaging in such acts while invoking the name of God disrespects Lord Rama. Hindu organizations should also denounce such behavior,” Rao emphasized.

“Any acts of moral policing or lawlessness will be met with stringent measures. Continued such behavior could impede development in regions like Mangaluru,” he warned.

He also noted that since the Congress government assumed power, efforts have been made to ensure law and order, but some organizations are attempting to instigate unrest and chaos to undermine the state's stability.

Meanwhile, the Sri Ram Sena has distanced itself from the perpetrators.

Prasad Attavar informed the media that the attack was conducted by Ram Sena activists.

“We received information regarding drugs being administered to young girls aged between 18 and 19, leading them into prostitution. One of the girls, a relative of our worker, was trapped here. The assault was executed based on a tip-off regarding illegal activities at this specific parlour. Mangaluru hosts approximately 25 massage parlours; this one was targeted due to credible information. Our intention was to protect the girls,” he claimed.

Contrarily, the owner of the massage parlour, Sudheer, asserted that the attackers brought items into the parlour.

“We have been operating the parlour for two years with all necessary documentation and licenses,” he insisted.
