Shillong, April 22 (NationPress) A 22-year-old youth hailing from Meghalaya has made it to the top 10 finalists of 'Resonate: The EDM Challenge', preparing to present his unique sound on the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) global platform in Mumbai from May 1 to 4, according to officials on Tuesday.

An official from the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in partnership with the Indian Music Industry (IMI), unveiled the names of the top 10 selected contestants for 'Resonate: The EDM Challenge'.

This inaugural WAVES event organized by the Ministry focuses on celebrating innovation, creativity, and collaboration in the realm of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) leading up to WAVES 2025.

Mark Ryan Syiemlieh (22) from Lummawbah, located in Upper Shillong, is one of the top contenders in the competition.

The finalists, including Syiemlieh, are set to showcase their talents at the WAVES event in Mumbai. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from St. Anthony’s College, Shillong and is currently residing in Mumbai.

His musical journey commenced at a young age, driven by a passion for DJing and Music Production, merging the beats of techno with the uplifting sounds of trance and house.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming WAVE Summit, he remarked, “I am grateful to the organizers of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit, hosted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, for selecting me as one of the top 10 finalists for the Resonate EDM challenge.”

Being in the top 10 is a significant honor for him, stating, “This moment signifies pride and reflects the dedication I've poured into my journey as an artist. This recognition not only validates my musical endeavors but also inspires me to continue evolving creatively.”
