New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) In a significant move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor on Tuesday afternoon. Before the inauguration, he will evaluate a wildlife corridor in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and also pay his respects at a Kali temple located in Uttarakhand, as confirmed by an official statement.

Scheduled for around 11:40 a.m., PM Modi will conduct Darshan and Pooja at the Jai Maa Daat Kali Temple near Dehradun. Following this, at approximately 12:30 p.m., he will inaugurate the economic corridor during a public event in Dehradun, where he will also address attendees, as per the Prime Minister's Office.

The Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor spans a length of 213 km and features a six-lane access-controlled design, developed with an investment exceeding Rs 12,000 crore.

This corridor connects the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, aiming to slash the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from over six hours to approximately two and a half hours.

The project also includes the construction of 10 interchanges, three Railway Over Bridges (ROBs), four major bridges, and 12 wayside amenities to facilitate smooth high-speed connectivity.

Equipped with an Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS), the corridor promises a safer and more efficient travel experience for commuters. Furthermore, considering the ecological sensitivity and rich biodiversity of the area, the design incorporates several features intended to minimize human-animal conflicts.

To promote the safe passage of wildlife, the project integrates specialized wildlife protection measures, including a remarkable 12 km-long wildlife elevated corridor, recognized as one of the longest in Asia.

Additionally, the corridor provides eight animal passes, two elephant underpasses measuring 200 meters each, and a 370-meter tunnel positioned near the Daat Kali temple.

The Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor is poised to be instrumental in bolstering regional economic growth by enhancing connectivity among key tourism and economic hubs, while also opening new pathways for trade and development across the area.

This project embodies PM Modi's vision of creating next-generation infrastructure that melds rapid connectivity with environmental sustainability and elevates the quality of life for citizens, according to the statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
