Bhopal, Aug 7 (NationPress) In an impressive display of empowerment and festive spirit, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will on Thursday deposit Rs 1,500 into the bank accounts of over 1.26 crore women as part of the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, marking the 27th installment of this vital initiative along with a special Rakshabandhan bonus.
The state-level ceremony, taking place in Narsinghgarh of Rajgarh district, will witness the Chief Minister initiating a direct benefit transfer of Rs 1,859 crore to eligible women beneficiaries.
Each beneficiary will receive Rs 1,250 as part of their regular monthly assistance, along with an additional Rs 250 as Rakshabandhan 'shagun', which CM Yadav described as a "small token of love from a brother".
"Today, I have the honor of transferring Rs 1,500, which includes a Raksha Bandhan shagun of Rs 250 plus the monthly Rs 1,250 installment, to 1.26 crore beloved sisters across the state," CM Yadav shared on his X handle.
Initiated in June 2023 by the previous government of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Ladli Behna Yojana aims to economically empower women aged 21 to 59 by providing consistent financial support.
This scheme also strives to enhance women's health, nutrition, and decision-making roles within their families.
As of July 2025, the program has disbursed over Rs 6,198 crore in the current financial year.
In addition to the assistance under the Ladli Behna Yojana, CM Yadav will also allocate Rs 43.90 crore to over 28 lakh women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and other welfare programs, facilitating gas cylinder refills for households in marginalized and tribal communities.
Earlier, while addressing the audience, CM Yadav reaffirmed his commitment to boosting the monthly assistance to Rs 1,500 by October 2025, and ultimately to Rs 3,000 by 2028, promising ongoing support for the women of the state.
"Every woman of the state is my sister. It is my pride and my honor," he stated.
The Chief Minister will also partake in a roadshow in Narsinghgarh, interacting with local communities and reiterating the government's focus on inclusive development and gender-responsive governance.
The Ladli Behna Yojana has become a fundamental aspect of Madhya Pradesh's welfare framework, directly influencing women's financial independence.
By aligning festive sentiments with policy execution, the government reinforces its dedication to inclusive growth, ensuring that dignity, nutrition, and agency are not merely promises but tangible realities for millions of women.
