New Delhi, June 7 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has officially filed a chargesheet against Canada-based terrorist Goldy Brar and four accomplices in a Special Court due to their involvement in twin grenade attacks on clubs in Gurugram last year, as stated by an official on Saturday.
The charges have been leveled against Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, along with Sachin Taliyan, Ankit, Bhawish, and US-based Randeep Singh alias Randeep Malik, under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Except for Brar and Malik, the remaining suspects have been apprehended in connection with this case, according to the NIA.
Brar is a wanted criminal in India, facing charges in over three dozen cases, including the assassination of singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Investigations by the anti-terror agency into the grenade incidents revealed that the accused were part of a conspiracy aimed at targeting Warehouse Club and Human Club located in Sector-29, Gurugram.
These bomb attacks were orchestrated as part of a broader conspiracy by the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) to incite communal discord and disrupt peace in Haryana and adjacent areas through acts of violence.
The attacks, carried out by members of the banned BKI organization, occurred on December 10, 2024.
NIA investigations further uncovered that the extensive terror plot was masterminded by Goldy Brar and his associates.
According to NIA findings, this terror syndicate is engaged in extorting funds, collecting resources for terrorism, acquiring explosives and weaponry, and inciting fear among the public to undermine the nation's integrity, security (including economic stability), and sovereignty.
In April, the NIA conducted extensive searches at multiple sites associated with Goldy Brar across northern states, including Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
During these operations, the teams raided premises linked to suspects and defendants tied to Goldy Brar and Randeep Malik, resulting in the recovery of several electronic devices and other incriminating evidence.
Following the grenade attack, gangster Rohit Godara claimed responsibility via a social media post.
Further NIA investigations revealed that Malik and Brar had previously threatened the club owners and attempted to extort money, ultimately orchestrating the grenade attacks.
