Patna, March 5 (NationPress) Following the announcement by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding his intention to transition to the Rajya Sabha, RJD leader Rohini Acharya expressed her disapproval of the JD(U) chief, asserting that he is currently facing the consequences of his consistent betrayals of political partners.

In a post on social media platform X, Acharya, the daughter of Lalu Prasad, attributed his current political predicament to his own actions.

She stated, "Nitish Kumar, who has continuously betrayed his own allies, is to blame for his downfall and the challenges he is facing today. You are reaping what you have sown."

Acharya further claimed that Kumar's decision to seek a seat in the Rajya Sabha was coerced by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

This shift in allegiance, she argued, stems from his departure from the Grand Alliance (INDIA bloc) on January 28, 2024.

Calling Nitish Kumar the embodiment of "opportunism," she contended that his return to the NDA was merely a desperate attempt to maintain power.

Moreover, she accused the JD(U) leader of ignoring cautionary advice from his former socialist allies.

In her statements, Acharya drew parallels to the political climate in Maharashtra involving Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, implying that Kumar failed to recognize the "BJP's treatment of its allies" in other regions.

She went on to assert that Nitish Kumar had weakened himself politically and criticized the BJP for its undue influence over him.

These comments signal the growing tension between the RJD and NDA amidst the recent shifts in Bihar's political landscape.

Nitish Kumar's announcement regarding his Rajya Sabha candidacy has ignited passionate responses from various political factions, exacerbating the uncertainty in the state.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar expressed gratitude towards the public for their trust and support over the past two decades, which he believes has allowed him to serve Bihar faithfully.

He acknowledged that the faith of the people has contributed to Bihar's progress and elevated its standing nationally, reiterating his appreciation for their continued support.

He stated that since the beginning of his parliamentary journey, he has aspired to be part of both Houses of the Bihar Legislature and Parliament.

With this aspiration in mind, he declared his intention to contest the Rajya Sabha elections this time around.

Nitish Kumar assured the people of Bihar that his commitment to them remains unwavering and that he will continue to strive for a developed Bihar.

He also pledged his full support and guidance to the forthcoming government.
