New Delhi, May 13 (NationPress) — Army veterans and defense experts have expressed their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation regarding the highly effective 'Operation Sindoor'. They believe this message will convey the right sentiment and reinforce citizens' confidence in the nation’s military capabilities.
A multitude of retired Army officials and defense specialists have asserted that PM Modi has made it clear that India will address its issues independently, without any foreign interference in its domestic concerns or international relations.
Lieutenant Colonel Ganesan S (Retd) praised the Prime Minister's remarks that future discussions between India and Pakistan should strictly focus on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.
“The Prime Minister emphasized that Operation Sindoor will persist and that terrorism will not be tolerated by the Republic of India under any circumstances. Should there be dialogue between India and Pakistan, it will solely address terrorism and PoK,” stated the veteran.
Cmdr GJ Singh (Retd.) remarked that had the operation continued for a few more days, Pakistan would have been devastated. He also endorsed India's firm stance against any third-party involvement.
Speaking to IANS, Defense expert and former Navy officer Cmdr GJ Singh (Retd.) affirmed, "America has received a clear message: we do not require any third-party intervention or mediation. This counters US President Trump's assertion that he facilitated the situation.”
He added, “In reality, it was Pakistan that repeatedly implored our DGMO to halt the operation. Out of compassion, we showed restraint. Had the operation continued, who knows what the state of Pakistan would be today... it could have been in ruins.”
Foreign Affairs expert Robinder Sachdev commented, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address was pivotal, and it is essential for both Indians and the global community to heed his words. The most critical point he made was about the nation’s unity and honoring our armed forces. He reiterated that this is not a time for war, and we will eradicate terrorism. When the Prime Minister states this is not an era for conflict, it sends a message that Pakistan must understand the principle of ‘live and let live...’”
Major General P.K. Sehgal (Retd) also commended the armed forces for their impactful actions on Pakistani territory, including its air bases, and supported PM Modi’s warning to Pakistan regarding ceasing its terror activities or facing consequences.
“The Prime Minister clearly stated that the weapons we deployed inflicted considerable damage on Pakistan. The 'Made in India' weapons, including the BrahMos missile and our own Akash missile, played a significant role. Additionally, our indigenous artillery and air defense systems were exceptional,” he elaborated.
In his 22-minute address, PM Modi asserted that Operation Sindoor has set a new standard in the battle against terrorism and established a new norm for counter-terrorism operations. He reiterated that Operation Sindoor was merely suspended, and India will vigilantly monitor Pakistan’s every action in the upcoming days to ensure compliance with its commitments.
