This visit is historic, as it marks the first occasion a current Prime Minister has visited the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. It was PM Modi’s first official visit to the RSS HQs located in the Reshimbagh area of Maharashtra.
Previously, he had visited Reshimbagh on September 16, 2012, to pay tribute to former RSS chief K. Sudarshan. Additionally, in July 2013, during his tenure as Chief Minister, Modi attended a meeting at the headquarters.
Accompanying PM Modi were RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, veteran leader Bhaiyyaji Joshi, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and local RSS leaders.
During the visit, the Prime Minister had a brief interaction with the RSS chief.
It is customary for local leaders to welcome any VIP or dignitary visiting RSS headquarters, and in a notable gesture, Mohan Bhagwat personally welcomed the Prime Minister.
