Patna, March 31 (NationPress) Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, on Monday sharply criticized the leaders of the Mahagathbandhan for their ongoing assertions that development is stagnant in Bihar.
He suggested they should "get their vision examined," accusing them of being blind to the advancements achieved under the NDA government.
"Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, along with leaders from Congress and Left parties, claim that Bihar is not progressing. They are not listening to the people's voices either. These individuals can neither see nor hear. I urge them to seek treatment from a reputable doctor," Rai stated while speaking to the media in Patna.
Rai asserted that Bihar is experiencing unprecedented infrastructure development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
"In the RJD government era, roads were nonexistent, and people faced hardships in traveling. Now, expressways are being constructed. The Centre has sanctioned the Patna-Arrah-Sasaram four-lane highway at a cost of ₹4,000 crore. Numerous roads have been built in Bihar, all thanks to the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar," he emphasized.
Rai alleged that prior to 2005, during the RJD administration, Bihar was in utter chaos with a failing education system, insufficient roads, electricity shortages, and no access to clean drinking water.
"Law and order were in ruins. There was Jungle Raj in Bihar, and migration rates were soaring. However, the current situation has drastically improved," he added.
Rai also pointed out job creation and poverty alleviation, claiming that 48 lakh jobs are projected to be generated in Bihar.
"People now have employment opportunities within Bihar. Nationwide, 25 crore individuals have escaped multidimensional poverty, including thousands from Bihar. This progress is attributed to the development efforts initiated under PM Modi," he conveyed.
With the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections, the political discourse around development versus Jungle Raj is escalating.
The NDA continues to advocate its narrative of infrastructure enhancement, law and order restoration, and poverty reduction, while the Opposition highlights widespread unemployment and governance challenges.
