Jammu, May 11 (NationPress) On Sunday, high-ranking security personnel assessed the border regions of the Jammu division that have recently suffered from Pakistan's mortar shelling.

Accompanied by senior police figures, including SSP Samba Varinder Singh Manas, SSP Kathua Shobit Saxena, SP (Operations) Kathua, SDPO Arun Jamwal, and SDPO Dheeraj Katoch, the DIG meticulously evaluated the security measures at critical infrastructure sites such as the National Highway (NHW), bridges, and railway facilities in the border area. A police declaration mentioned, “This comprehensive security review reflects the dedication of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to uphold peace and security in sensitive border zones and to safeguard the local community. Several border locations, particularly those adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC) and the International border, experienced significant infrastructure damage due to intense mortar fire from Pakistan in the previous fortnight.

Despite a ceasefire declaration by both nations, violations occurred at various points along the LoC and one site in the Armia sub-sector of the International Border on Saturday evening.

However, calm has prevailed since Sunday morning along both the LoC and the International Border in the region.
