Patna, Jan 30 (NationPress) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his failure to address the declining law and order situation in the state, questioning his silence and inaction regarding the rising crime rates.
As the opposition leader in the state Assembly, Tejashwi pointed out that despite Nitish Kumar's two-decade rule in Bihar, crime continues to be a pressing issue, as indicated by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics.
He highlighted a recent incident on January 23, where approximately 200 rounds were fired in Mokama, and remarked that Bihar's Deputy CM dismissed it as a trivial matter.
Tejashwi has ramped up his criticism of both the Bihar government and the Central government, accusing them of overlooking the state's progress and ignoring its longstanding demands.
He stated, “Nitish Kumar has governed Bihar for 20 years, yet the law and order situation is subpar. The BJP-led central government has been in power for over 14 years and has provided nothing to Bihar.”
Tejashwi reiterated his call for special status for Bihar, which he claims the Centre has continuously ignored.
As part of his Karyakarta Darshan Sah Samvad Yatra, he visited Hina Shahab and her son Osama Shahab's residence in Siwan.
Hina Shahab, the widow of the late MP Shahabuddin, has recently joined RJD and might be a candidate for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
This visit signifies RJD's initiative to strengthen its support base in Siwan, a stronghold of the late Shahabuddin.
Tejashwi stated that his Yatra aims to fortify the RJD at various levels - Panchayat, booth, block, subdivision, and district.
He has already visited most districts and plans to soon travel to Saran, Vaishali, Nalanda, Nawada, and Patna.
“Each district has its unique challenges, and RJD is developing strategies accordingly,” he added.
Tejashwi's ongoing criticism of CM Nitish and the BJP-led Central government occurs in the lead-up to the Bihar Assembly elections.
On the other hand, CM Nitish is also conducting a Pragati Yatra across the state to review developmental projects, inaugurate, and lay foundation stones for various initiatives.
