New Delhi, Feb 2 (NationPress) Congress leader Pramod Tiwari responded to a letter from Arvind Kejriwal addressed to the Election Commission, where the AAP leader requested protection for his party members. Tiwari criticized both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for allegedly manipulating their authority to garner votes in the lead-up to the elections.

In comments to IANS, Tiwari remarked, "His assertion may be true, yet it is clear that both BJP and AAP are misusing their powers for electoral gains. Furthermore, the police appear to be uncritically supporting BJP in this endeavor, but the public can discern the truth and will ultimately favor Congress," Tiwari elaborated.

Additionally, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also commented on the matter, criticizing the Election Commission for its response to complaints.

She raised issues regarding the inaction concerning the reported assaults on AAP supporters and on Kejriwal himself. "The promptness with which the Election Commission addresses complaints from BJP is astonishing, yet it seems lacking in responding to AAP's allegations and the violence against its members," Chaturvedi pointed out.

She added, "The Election Commission needs to take this situation seriously and guarantee the safety of Arvind Kejriwal and his team. The removal of the Punjab police, who were providing security, further suggests a targeted approach against them."

The political climate intensified after AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal sent a letter to the Chief Election Officer (CEO) of Delhi, voicing concerns about reported assaults on his party workers in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

In his correspondence, Kejriwal asserted that AAP workers were being intimidated and attacked by "hooligans" affiliated with BJP candidate Parvesh Verma. He called for the deployment of independent election monitors in the region to avert further violence and urged the Election Commission to ensure the protection of AAP volunteers.
