TMC Removes Leader Allegedly Involved in Murder Conspiracy of Party Councillor in Malda

Kolkata, Jan 10 (NationPress) The Trinamool Congress (TMC) formally declared the expulsion of their party leader Narendra Nath Tiwari on Thursday. Tiwari was apprehended following allegations of his involvement in a conspiracy linked to the murder of Dulal Sarkar, also known as Babla, an MLA representing the English Bazar Municipality in Malda district of West Bengal.

This announcement was made during a press briefing at TMC's Malda district headquarters, which was jointly conducted by the party's Malda district president Abdul Rahim Bakshi and the chairman of English Bazar Municipality, Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury.

The expulsion decision regarding Tiwari was reached by TMC's state leadership on Thursday morning, and this was promptly communicated to the district leadership, which subsequently made the official announcement in the afternoon.

In addition to his role as the TMC's Malda town president, Tiwari also serves as the district president of the Hindi cell within the ruling party.

As per Chowdhury, the relationship between Tiwari and Sarkar had been contentious for a considerable duration, and the expelled leader was intent on eliminating Sarkar.

Tiwari, who is one of the seven individuals implicated in this case, is currently in judicial custody.

The murder of Sarkar has brought to light the infamous infighting within the TMC in Malda district.

Sarkar was assaulted on the morning of January 2 while he was positioned at a bustling intersection in the area. Three assailants wearing helmets arrived on a motorcycle, and one of them fired shots at him openly.

The first two shots missed, but the third bullet struck Sarkar in the head.

He was urgently transported to Malda Medical College and Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Following the emergence of news regarding his murder, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the district police for their failure to prevent the incident, attributing the tragedy to the negligence of the district police superintendent.
