Agartala, Feb 15 (NationPress) Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha proclaimed on Sunday that India is poised to ascend to the rank of the world's third-largest economy by 2030, with the nation's youth and students playing a pivotal role in shaping its future.
Speaking at a tribal students' conference hosted by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Rabindra Bhavan, CM Saha emphasized that individuals aged 18 to 35 are the backbone of the nation and are integral to its security, socio-economic advancement, and infrastructure growth.
"The Prime Minister's vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas is anchored in the strength and potential of our youth," he remarked, adding that their active involvement in nation-building initiatives embodies this spirit.
CM Saha noted that the impressive turnout of students at the conference bolstered his belief that Tripura's future is promising.
He highlighted the necessity to enhance the presence and engagement of student organizations across the state's colleges.
Reflecting on previous decades, he mentioned that prolonged instability had once disrupted academic life; however, the landscape has stabilized since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office in 2014.
"India has advanced from 11th to 4th position in the global economy and is set to secure the 3rd position by 2030," he added.
Emphasizing social responsibility, CM Saha urged students to engage in initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and blood donation campaigns, asserting that learning and innovation, including the responsible application of artificial intelligence, are paramount to constructing a knowledge-driven nation.
He affirmed that the state government prioritizes the development of tribal communities and the promotion of local and minority languages, including Kokborok.
"Education and learning in one's mother tongue are crucial for inclusive development," he stated.
The conference saw participation from State Higher Education Minister Kishor Burman, former MP Rebati Tripura, ABVP All India General Secretary Kamlesh Singh, State BJP President Debraj Panigrahi, and other senior party officials.
